Terms and conditions

Zero Gravity X Snap, Inc.

These are the official terms and conditions (“Rules”) that apply to the Augmented Reality Lens Challenge contest (the “Challenge”). By entering the Challenge, each entrant confirms they have read, understood and accepted these Rules, including the limitations of liability.

1. Challenge Promoter.
Zero Gravity Tech Ltd (“Zero Gravity”) and Snap Group Limited (“Snap”), are the promoters of the Augmented Reality Lens Challenge (the “Challenge”).

2. Entry Period.
The Challenge begins at 5:00pm BST on 18th March 2024 and ends at 5th April 2024, 11:59pm BST (“Entry Period”). Lens submissions must be made and received during the Entry Period. Neither Zero Gravity nor Snap are responsible for Lens submissions that are not received within the Entry Period.

3. Eligibility.

a. Submissions may only be made by individuals who are current university undergraduate students, 18 years or older that are permanent legal residents of the U.K., and who have been expressly invited by Zero Gravity to participate (the “Participant”).

b. Limited to one Lens submission per Participant

c. No purchase necessary but each Participant must sign up for and agree to Snap Inc.’s Lens Studio License Agreement, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

4. Voting Criteria.
All submissions will be voted upon by a group of judges using the below equally weighted criteria:

a. Technical Execution (40%): the Lens was created using a variety of Lens Objects and multiple Lens Studio functionalities to personalise the Lens beyond importing assets.

b. Originality (30%): the Lens is a creative, unique experience that has not been created before.

5. Judging Rounds

a. All complete, correct and eligible Lenses submitted will be judged by a panel of judges comprising members of Zero Gravity and Snap Philanthropy. The judges will select the top three eligible Lenses submitted based on the Voting Criteria.

b. Snap designers will then select one of the top 10 Lenses submitted as the winner (the “Winner”) based on the Voting Criteria.

c. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Winner Notification.
The Winner will be notified using any of the contact details provided at the time of entry. Zero Gravity will make reasonable efforts to contact the Winner, but it is the Winner's responsibility to monitor their voicemail, email account, including any junk mail folders, for receipt of the notification.

7. Formatting & Submission Info.

a. All Participants must comply with the following guidelines in order to be eligible for consideration:

i. iPhone 8 frame 9 (width)/16 length (use Lens Studio default); ii. Up to 10 MB;

iii. Create a preview video of your Lens;

iv. Upload your Lens preview video to the AR Lens Challenge Final Submissions

v. Along with your video submission, include your name, email address, telephone number and age in the text part of your Padlet submission; and

vi. Email a signed copy of the Consent agreement below to hello@zerogravity.co.uk

b. Lenses must not include third-party branding, copyright works or logos

c. By participating in the Challenge, each Participant assigns to Snap all right, title and interest in and to the developed Lens and all

Intellectual Property rights within the Lens. To the extent the Lens’ intellectual property rights cannot be assigned, each Participant grants Snap a non-exclusive, unlimited, free worldwide licence in order to publish the Lens and publicise or otherwise market and promote the Lens (including use of the participants’ name) on Snap’s website (including the Lens Studio website) and in the Snapchat application and other social media platforms.

d. Lens must not be, or contain any material which is likely to be, threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, inflammatory, in breach of confidence or third-party rights, or which is otherwise unlawful.

e. Any digital file uploaded or otherwise supplied to Zero Gravity must not include or contain any code of a malicious, destructive or disruptive nature (including malware or spyware).

8. Prize. The Winner of the Challenge will receive:

a. First Prize - an invitation to attend a work experience day at the Snap HQ in London and receive a pair of Snap Spectacles

i. Reasonable travel costs incurred in the undertaking of First prize will be reimbursed by Snap Inc and will not exceed a limit of £300/ Travel expenses only cover public transport and second/standard class travel. All expenses will need to be approved by Snap Inc in advance of purchase.

b. Second & Third Prize - Receive a pair of Snap Spectacles c. All Participants will receive a certificate.

d. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

e. The Prize excludes anything not expressly included. The Prize excludes all costs and expenses incurred that are not expressly set out in these Rules.

9. Claiming the Prize.
The Winner must accept the Prize by confirming their eligibility and acceptance within five (5) working days of the date of the initial notification, and executing such further documents as may be required within a reasonable time. The Prize may be time-sensitive and therefore failure to accept the prize by the deadlines may result in the Prize being forfeited and the selection of an alternative winner. Alternative winners will be selected and notified as set out above and must claim the Prize within five (5) working days.

10. Important Dates.

a. Live: Kick-off call - 18th March 2024, 5pm - 6pm

b. Self-paced: Snap AR Lens Challenge ‘Level Up’ Tutorials: 18th March - 5th April

c. Live: Lens Lab - 21st March, 5pm - 6pm

d. Live: Challenge launch - 26th March, 5pm - 6pm

e. Live: Office Hours drop in - 28th March 5pm - 6:30pm

f. Challenge Lens Submissions Due Date: 5th April 2024, 11:59pm

11. Liability:
To the fullest extent permissible by law Zero Gravity and Snap exclude all liability for any loss, liability, damage, costs, injury or expense arising from or in connection with any Participant’s participation in the Challenge or acceptance of the Prize (or their failure or inability to do so), including any travel related to the Challenge or the Prize, and Snap’s use of the Lens in accordance with these Rules.

12. Participants understand that participation in the Challenge including making a Lens does not create any employment relationship between the Participants and Snap or Zero Gravity.

13. Cancellation and Variation.
Zero Gravity reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel the Challenge and/or these Rules if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside of Zero Gravity's reasonable control. In the event of cancellation, the prizes may be awarded to Lens drawn from submissions received prior to cancellation.

14. Disqualification.
Without limiting the options available to Zero Gravity, Zero Gravity reserves the right at any time to disqualify Lenses or Participants that Zero Gravity regards as being in breach of these Rules, any applicable laws, any terms and conditions referred to in these Rules or the spirit of the Challenge.

15. Disputes.
If there is a dispute about the Challenge or these Rules, Zero Gravity’s decisions are final. If there is inconsistency between these Rules and any other document referred to in these Rules, these Rules take precedence to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict.

16. Law and jurisdiction.
The Challenge and these Rules are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
